Navigates your taste buds with cool sophistication and soft-spoken elegance. Dressed in pale blue with a mint stole, she delivers sweet anise in whispered tones coolly wrapped in wintergreen.

Nose: Soft, cooling anise
Notes: Delicate flavors, sweet anise cools the mouth with a light mint finish. Light, refreshing, sophisticated, not bitter. The simplicity is balanced by the clear, bright flavor that rings through to a lasting finish.
Because there is very little anise flavor Tourment makes a great mixer for cocktails.
WHAT IS LE TOURMENT VERT? An authentic, traditional handcrafted French absinthe. A spirit made from anise, fennel, wormwood and a blend of aromatic herbs including sage, rosemary and coriander.
LE TOURMENT VERT IS MADE AT: Distillerie Vinet Ege, located near Cognac City in France. Distillerie Vinet Ege is a small family owned artisanal distillery in operation since 1934. It specializes in high quality, handcrafted limited quantity products including fine cognacs. The Distillerie is owned by Bruno Delannoy and his wife Annie.
INGREDIENTS (as found in all traditional absinthes) Holy Trinity: Anise, Fennel & Grand Wormwood (Artemisia Absinthium). Plus, it contains aromatic herbs including Sage, Rosemary and Coriander. Le Tourment Vert contains the maximum dosage of thujone currently allowed by the United States Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB).

HOW IS IT MADE? THREE STEP PROCESS:
Cultivation and selection of Grand Wormwood and the herbal mix;
Maceration and distillation – Herbs are soaked and steeped with alcohol then distilled in dual ergrat alembic copper stills dating back to late 1800’s;
Add color – As with many traditional absinthes coloring is added.
HOW SHOULD IT BE SERVED?
Traditional – Pour one ounce in a glass. Place a slotted spoon with a sugar cube over the glass. Pour 3 ounces of cold water over the sugar, stir and enjoy.
Eastern European – Pour in a glass. Dip sugar cube in absinthe, place in spoon and light cube on fire. Extinguish, stir and enjoy.
Our Recommendation – Pour a shot over one or two cubes of ice.

WHY DOES IT CLOUD? Traditional absinthes cloud, or louche (French) when cold water mixes with the oils of anise, making them unique and mysterious.

Le Tourment Vert is legal in the US. TTB has given provisional approval to Le Tourment Vert, and a limited quantity has recently cleared US Customs.
The glass carafe style bottle is hand painted and individually numbered. Louche cloud symbolism includes the Tormentor (Devil’s face), two women with glass, a fairy and faces in the mist.
